We are looking for a new apprentice for our location in Hohenschönhausen.
Training as a vehicle painter is certainly not a piece of cake, but it brings colour to life. The work of a painter is anything but boring or monotonous and takes place both in the workshop and in the office. Developing new designs, repairing paint damage, mixing paint colours yourself are some of the tasks that will ultimately be part of your everyday working life.
A good, if not very good, basic understanding of chemistry and maths is a prerequisite for an apprenticeship. You should also be well-positioned in work and technology, because in addition to creativity, manual dexterity is crucial in this profession.
The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and can be completed purely at school or as a dual programme in a company. The course content includes calculating product requirements, the correct ratio when mixing paints and chemicals, as well as the correct professional pre-treatment of surfaces. Of course, the general vehicle structure should also be known.
In order to stay up to date, it is important to regularly develop your own skills and to keep up to date with the latest trends and products. You simply never stop learning in this profession.
Please note that paper applications will not be returned by post, but will be destroyed once they have been entered into the applicant management system. Your personal data will be deleted in accordance with legal requirements.

What will you be able to do at the end of this apprenticeship?
What do you need to bring with you for the apprenticeship?
What does Schimmel Automobile offer you?
I started with an internship at CSB Schimmel Automobile. I really liked it, so I applied for the apprenticeship and luckily got it.
I had help finding a company, but I decided to stay on my own. The good atmosphere in the internship simply won me over.
Very good! I always get help when I need it. I wouldn't have got this far without the guys here.
First I get changed and then it's time to concentrate! After going through the orders with my journeyman, I get straight down to work.
Every car suffers minor damage to the paintwork, and it's not that difficult to repair. We often provide the finishing touches after the bodywork repairs so that the customer's vehicle looks like new again.
My current focus is entirely on training. Perhaps I will specialise in something else later or continue my education, but that is not yet certain.
Everyone here is nice and friendly, always really. We have a good rapport throughout the workshop, between the trainees, but also with the other employees in the workshop.
In addition to the normal workshop operations, we also repair classic cars. I wasn't there for the first project, but now I'm allowed to work on it too. It should be finished by the end of the year. I don't have anything to do with it at the moment. I can't do anything until the others are finished, otherwise the paintwork will keep breaking.
I go to lessons once a week. I mainly do technical studies and maths. I have to pay close attention here, otherwise it can get dangerous. How to handle the colours and substances, mix them together and calculate the quantities is very important.
